Reveal 0045: Stereolab - Transient Random-Noise Bursts With Announcements

Today we are looking at, Transient Random-Noise Bursts With Announcements by Stereolab. Released by Duophonic Ultra High Frequency Disks as catalog number D-UHF-D02 in 1993. This is the first pressing of this album.

The cover is the same as a Hi-Fi Sound Stereo Test Record from the 1960’s, with the color modified, and album name and band name added. The back contains the credits and the tracklisting, in a similar Hi-Fi test record style.

This release has two printed slip cases for the two records. The first slipcase has an image of a switch panel on the front, and some wavy lines on the back. While the second shows an image of a playing record player on the front, and some adjustment knobs on the back. The album is pressed on two black records, with the Duophonic Ultra High Frequency Disks logo on white on the first side, and the track listing for both sides contained on the back. Side 2 has a purple label, while side 4 has a red label.

Reveal 0044: Geinoh Yamashirogumi - Symphonic Suite Akira

Today, we are looking at the Symphonic Suite Akira, composed by Shoji Yamashiro and performed by Yamashirogumi Geinoh, released by Invitation as catalog number VIH-28339 in 1988. This is the original pressing of this score.

Today we are looking at the 7” single, Daphny by XIU XIU. Released by Polyvinyl Record Company as catalog number  PRC-225-7 in 2011.

The cover has this image, along with a poignant message from the band, inspired by the title track ‘Daphny’ which is about a friend of Jamie’s who was raped by a police officer after being arrested for shoplifting. Reveal 0042: Hannah Diamond - Reflections (Deluxe Edition)

Today we are looking at, the limited deluxe edition of Reflections by Hannah Diamond. Released by PC Music as catalog number PC036D in 2020, for this original 2019 digital release.

This marks her first full length release, and the deluxe edition was limited to 500 copies. The entire package is housed in a printed foil outer bag, with a repeating Hannah Diamond logo pattern on the front and back.

The cover has an image of Hannah sitting on a crescent moon, cropped further than the digital or standard edition vinyl release. This copy was signed by the artist on the cover. The back shows a shimmering diamond. The inside of the gatefold has this image of Hannah holding a star crystal.

This release includes a poster for the album, with the lyrics on the back with a color treatment that reveals a heart shaped lock in the middle. There are also 9 more posters representing the tracks on the album. My copy contained two copies of the ‘Never Again’ poster, and is missing the ‘Love Goes On’ poster.

Also included is a printed inner sleeve, with a message from Hannah Diamond on the front which is reversed, and the text faded, on the back. The album is pressed on crystal clear, with a Hannah Diamond logo on side One, and the tracklisting on side Two, surrounding a modified USB logo with key, heart, and heart lock.
