This marks his first solo full length release. The cover has this drawing of a bloody Wu-Tang battle. With the back containing a sketch, along with the tracklisting woven throughout a paragraph, stringing them all together.

Reveal 0038: Arab Strap - Love Detective

Today we are looking at, the Love Detective maxi-single by Arab Strap. Released by Chemikal Underground as catalog number CHEM049 in 2001. 

The cover replicates the design aesthetic used for movie soundtracks in the 1960’s. The back contains the tracklisting, as well as a moody detective novel style blurb, to set the mood.

Reveal 0037: El DeBarge - El Debarge

Today we are looking at, the self titled debut release by El DeBarge. Released by Gordy as catalog number 6181GL in 1986. 

The cover has a brooding image of El Debarge underneath the name. The back contains the tracklisting, along with a photo of a pre-mullet El DeBarge in a wonderful high collared jacket.

This release contains a printed slipcase, showing a repeated El DeBarge on the front, along with a printed message and signature. The back of the slipcase repeats El DeBarge one last time, along with the credits for the album.

Today we are looking at, Music for Insomniacs by Matt Berry. Released by Acid Jazz as catalog number AJXLP321 in 2014. 

A limited number of pressings were available signed, including this example here. The cover has a painting by Matt Berry. While the back shows Berry among synths. Along with the dedication to the target audience “Dedicated to insomnia sufferers everywhere. Sleep well.”

The album is pressed on a single blue LP, with a ‘this side’, ‘that side’ designation used on side A, and a portion of the cover painting used for side B.

Today we are looking at, i’ll try living like this by death’s dynamic shroud. Released by Orange Milk Records with no catalog number in 2017 for this 2015 release. This is currently the only vinyl release of this album

This marks their debut full length release. The cover has a photo showing a leather studded and dapper Dorian. The back contains the artist name, album title, and tracklisting, along with another photo of Dorian in regulation sportsball protective gear.

This release contains an insert with an image of Dorian Electra in a stormy and electric night scene. The credits for the album are on the back.

Today we are looking at, No Money, No Problems by Tornavalanche. Released by INIT Records as catalog number INIT-38 in 2006. 

This marks the only full length release for the band. The cover has the band and album name over some sketches of horses on torn paper, which continues to the back along with the tracklisting.

The album is pressed on one Blue with Orange splatter record, limited to 100 copies. The only hint to side A on the label is the band name printed on it, with side B containing no writing on the label.

This comes in a sleeve with the barcode, title, and artist names printed on the front. The cover has this almost symmetrical design, with Robyn highlighted in the front and center. The back has the tracklisting, while the inside of the gatefold contains the credits for the album.

Today we are looking at the debut self titled release by George Clanton & Nick Hexum. Released by 100% Electronica as catalog number 121P in 2020. 

The cover has this image of anthropomorphized dogs by Brian Blomerth, with a cutout revealing the artist names from the slipcase underneath. The back contains the tracklisting, next to George and Nick, depicted as K9’s.

100% Electronica releases are typically shipped with a collectable playing card. This package included an Equip trading card.

Removing the slipcase expands to a beach scene of George and Nick, sharing a tabaccoless cigarette on the front. While the back contains the credits for the album above the setting sun. The album is pressed on one Pink with Yellow splatter LP, and spins at 45RPM, as noted by the labels on sides A and B.

Today we are looking at the Death Stranding Score, composed by Ludvig Forssell. Released by Mondo as catalog number MOND-177 in 2020.  This was released as a triple gatefold to cover all 29 tracks across 3 LPs.

The cover has an image of  hands amongst some floating orbs. The back has the tracklisting and album credits.

Opening the trifold shows the lyrics for BB’s Theme on the right. With the beginning of a surrealist image on the left side, which expands as the trifold is fully opened.

Today we are looking at, Death Stranding - Songs From the Video Game. Released by Mondo as catalog number MOND-178 in 2020.  This was released as a triple gatefold to cover all 22 tracks across 3 LPs.

The cover has an image of Sam’s hand with the Chiral Network keys floating above. The back shows Higgs holding his golden skull mask, as well as the track listing.

Opening the trifold shows some tasty Cryptobiotes on the right side. With the beginning of a stylized landscape on the left side, which expands as the trifold is fully opened. 

The record comes with an OBI style promo strip, with further details about this record, as well as promoting other releases by Mondo.

In addition, there is a folded sheet with an image of The Beach on the front, credits for each track inside, and credits for the vinyl release on the back.

This marks their fifth full length release. The cover has an image of Mike, with the back showing a back image of Mike, holding a switchblade between his shoulder blades. The inside of the gatefold shows Mike laying on a motorcycle.

This double LP release contains two printed slipcases, the first has an image of a snake on a plaster eye on the front. With the lyrics for the first record on the back. The second slipcase has an image of Mike with statue, along with the credits, on the front. While the back contains the lyrics for the second record. This album is pressed on 2 transparent blue LPs for sides A, B, C, and D.
