Reveal 0439: Dan Salvato - Doki Doki Literature Club

Today we are looking at, Doki Doki Literature Club! by Dan Salvato. Released by iam8bit as catalog number 8BIT-8089 in 2019.

The cover has a classroom with a laptop on desk, with a cutout for the screen revealing the album name from the slipcase below. The back contains the tracklist, within a classroom. Removing the slipcase reveals an error message, on the screen.

A printed slipcase shows the characters on the front, and the glitches on the back.

Reversing the slipcase within the cover reveals a glitch onscreen.

Reveal 0105: The Slovak National Symphony Orchestra - Hero of Time

Today we are looking at, Hero of Time by The Slovak National Symphony Orchestra. Released by iam8bit as catalog number 8BIT-8054 in 2017.

The cover has a cutout in the shape of an Ocarina, showing the slipcase underneath and is surrounded by a gold foil embossed border. The back has the same border, as well as a gold embossed triforce in the center. Opening the gatefold reveals Hyrule in both light and dark worlds surrounded by a gold embossed border. The credits are also included inside the gatefold.

This release includes two printed inner sleeves, with a light world illustration for the first record, along with the tracklisting and more gold foil borders. The second slipcase shows a dark world drawing, along with the tracklisting and gold borders. Both sleeves are black on the back.

The album is pressed on 2 records, the first on green with white splatter for sides A, and B. The second is pressed on purpule with white merge for sides C, and D.

Today we are looking at, The Satanic Mass by Anton LaVey. Reissued by Murgenstrumm as catalog number MM6660 in 2019, for this original 1968 release.

Reveal 0024: Death Stranding - Original Score

Today we are looking at the Death Stranding Score, composed by Ludvig Forssell. Released by Mondo as catalog number MOND-177 in 2020.  This was released as a triple gatefold to cover all 29 tracks across 3 LPs.

The cover has an image of  hands amongst some floating orbs. The back has the tracklisting and album credits.

Opening the trifold shows the lyrics for BB’s Theme on the right. With the beginning of a surrealist image on the left side, which expands as the trifold is fully opened. 

The record comes with an OBI style promo, with further details about this record, as well as promoting other releases by Mondo.

In addition, there is an insert included, with a message from Ludvig Forssell on the front, and credits for each track on the back. 

The album is pressed on 3 180g LPs. Clear and black splatter for sides One and Two. Clear with gold splatter for sides Three and Four. And Clear with red splatter for sides Five and Six.

Reveal 0012: Efterklang with Copenhagen Phil - The Piramida Concert

Today we are looking at, The Piramida Concert by Efterklang with Copenhagen Phil. Released by 4AD as catalog number CAD 3316 in 2013.

This album is from the Piramida tour, which had Efterklang performing with orchestras around the world. This recording is from their performances in Denmark with Copenhagen Phil. 

The cover has a geometric pattern, with the title and conductor listed in the upper left. The back continues the geometric theme, along with the tracklisting. The inside of the gatefold inverts the black and white color scheme, for the same geometric pattern, and includes the credits for Efterklang, guest muscians, as well as Copenhagen Phil.

The album is pressed on 2 LPs, the first is housed in a sleve showing images taken from the performance, as well as some information explaining how both the Piramida studio album, and orchestral concerts were conceived. The first record is pressed on white for sides A and B.

The second sleeve contains more images from the concert, as well as the full listing of Piramida concert dates. Sides C and D are pressed on Black.

This release also includes a CD with the same tracks as the records, housed in a paper sleeve.
