Reveal 0436: Vinyl Moon Volume 045: Imaginary Windows

Today we are looking at, Vinyl Moon Volume 045: Imaginary Windows. Released by Vinyl Moon as catalog number Volume 045 in 2019. 

The cover has a moony illustration. The back contains the tracklist and another illustration. Opening the left panel of the tri-fold reveals a new illustration on each panel, continued to the right panel, with the inner panel containing a cutout revealing the included inserts below.

This release was housed in a protective outer sleeve with a sticker indicating the special VIP edition color variant.

Two double sided inserts were included with different illustrations on the front and back of each, allowing the listener to pick their own inner gatefold panel design.

Reveal 0076: Run the Jewels - Meow the Jewels

Today we are looking at, Meow The Jewels by Run The Jewels. Released by Mass Appeal as catalog number MSAP0025LP in 2015.  This is the crowdfunded, cat focused, remix album of Run the Jewels 2, with all proceeds going to a charity benefiting the families of Eric Garner and Mike Brown.

The outer cover has cat paws forming the Run the Jewels logo on the front. The back contains the same image, however it is die cut, revealing the gatefold underneath. The gatefold contains a faux fur front cover, with the tracklisting on the back. Opening the gatefold reveals the full credits for the tracks and album, surrounding cat versions of El-P and Killer Mike in a car. 

This release includes two inserts, a sticker sheet, and a folded poster with the inner gatefold image on one side, and the lyrics for the songs on the opposite side. 

The album is pressed on two brown and black splatter LPs for sides A, B, C, and D.

Reveal 0031: George Clanton & Nick Hexum - George Clanton & Nick Hexum

Today we are looking at the debut self titled release by George Clanton & Nick Hexum. Released by 100% Electronica as catalog number 121P in 2020. 

The cover has this image of anthropomorphized dogs by Brian Blomerth, with a cutout revealing the artist names from the slipcase underneath. The back contains the tracklisting, next to George and Nick, depicted as K9’s.

100% Electronica releases are typically shipped with a collectable playing card. This package included an Equip trading card.

Removing the slipcase expands to a beach scene of George and Nick, sharing a tabaccoless cigarette on the front. While the back contains the credits for the album above the setting sun. The album is pressed on one Pink with Yellow splatter LP, and spins at 45RPM, as noted by the labels on sides A and B.

Reveal 0003: Super Hang-On Soundtrack

Today we are looking at the Super Hang-On Soundtrack, composed by Namiki, Koichi; Hayashi, Katsuhiro; and Ohwada, Shigeru. Released by Data Discs as catalog number DATA004 in 2015. 

This plays at 45RPM and the original source material was captured directly from an original arcade machine soundboard, specifically the ‘Mini Ride-On’ model.

The cover has an obi strip, with a die cut Super Hang-On logo showing the sleeve underneath. One side of the sleeve shows a stylized version of old television scan lines with a gameplay image in the background, while the second side shows a nice bright image of the Super Hang-On logo screen. The back shows a world map of each Super Hang-On stage, as well as the track listing for the record.

This limited edition variant is pressed on clear with a beautiful red, white, and blue splatter. The labels alternate between a blue, white, red; and a red, white, blue motif respectively for sides A and B.
