Today we are looking at, The Understanding by Röyksopp. Reissued by Wall of Sound as catalog number WALL LP 035 in 2014, for this original 2005 release. 

The cover has the group name and album title on this photo. The back contains the tracklist and group name. Opening the gatefold reveals a wooden band logo, and the credits.

Two printed inner sleeves are included with photos of the members on the front, and the credits on the back of the first. The second contains a band logo on the front, and the lyrics and credits on the back.

The album is pressed on two black records for sides 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Today we are looking at, Horses In The Sky by Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra and Tra-la-la Band. Released by Constellation as catalog number cst033-1 in 2005. 

The cover has a bird, along with the band initials in the corners, and a quote. The back contains this design.

This release includes a 10” silkscreened insert, with artwork on the front, and the tracklist and credits on the back.

Also included is a booklet, with additional artwork.

The album is pressed on two black LPs for sides 1, 2, and 3, with an etching included on the fourth side.

Today we are looking at, And The Glass Handed Kites by Mew. Reissued by Music On Vinyl as catalog number MOVLP1607 in 2016, for this original 2005 release. 

The cover has this composite image of the band members. The back contains the tracklisting, as well as the numbering out of 4000 copies.

A folded insert is included with more images of the band members on the front, and the lyrics and credits on the back.

Reveal 0109: Ahab - The Oath

Today we are looking at, The Oath by Ahab. Released by Deviant Records as catalog number DEV 011 in 2007, for this 2005 self released EP. 

This marks their first EP prior to the release of their debut album ‘The Call of the Wretched Sea’. The cover has a scene from Moby Dick, with the band name and EP title. The back contains an illustration of a man being eaten by a fish, along with the numbering out of 150 copies. This release is housed in a folded sleeve, opening the sleeve reveals the lyrics, credits, thank you notes, and photos of the band members.

This release also includes a promotional poster of the band, along with the style of music to be expected - Nautik Funeral Doom.

The album is pressed on black for sides A, and B.

Reveal 0004: Matt Berry - Opium

Today we are looking at, Opium by Matt Berry. Released by Acid Jazz Records as catalog number AJXLP372 in 2015. 

This is the second pressing for this original 2005 release, limited to 500 copies, with 100 sold in retail outlets, and the remaining 400 offered at Matt Berry’s February 13th 2015 performance at The Forum in London. This copy is number 487 out of 500, as printed on the back cover.

This is Matt Berry’s first full length release on Acid Jazz. The cover has a closeup of Matt Berry. With the back listing the tracks and credits, along with this image of Berry with dog and dog book.

The album is pressed on Opaque Orange for this single LP release.
