Today we are looking at, Rio by Duran Duran. Reissued by Parlophone as catalog number RP1-543662 in 2014, for this original 1982 release. This is the remastered version of this album.

The cover has the band name, album title, and female figure. The back contains the tracklist.

Two printed inner sleeves are included, with a photo of the band and the credits, lyrics, photos of each member individually, and different takes of the group photo.

The album is pressed on two 180g black records for sides One and Two for the original album. And sides One and Two for the remixes.

Today we are looking at, Vinyl Moon Volume 009: Shifting States. Released by Vinyl Moon as catalog number Volume 009 in 2016. 

The cover has an illustration of flora, with some color banding, along with the volume title in a clear printing. The back continues the illustration, which spans across the outside of the gatefold. Opening the gatefold reveals the tracklisting, underneath the album title, among some plant illustrations.

This release includes two inserts. The first contains a message from the founder, while the second contains the postcards for the album, with artwork on the front, and the lyrics on the back, for each track. 

Also included is a booklet, which contains additional booklets within the pages.

Today we are looking at, Vinyl Moon Volume 007: Parallels. Released by Vinyl Moon as catalog number Volume 007 in 2016. 

The cover has this illustration, along with the tracklisting for side A. The back has an inverted parallel illustration, with the side B tracklisting. Opening the gatefold reveals two parallel comic storylines. The lift side flips up, and the right side flips down, to reveal more of the story, eventually converging in the center.

This release includes two inserts, the first contains a message from the founder; and the second is the set of postcards with artwork on the front, and lyrics on the back, for each track.

Reveal 0096: Vinyl Moon Volume 005: Go Outsize

Today we are looking at, Vinyl Moon Volume 005: Go Outsize. Released by Vinyl Moon as catalog number Volume 005 in 2016. 

The front and back cover have a collage that expands across five panels as it is opened. Hidden messages are contained within the collage, including the Side A tracklisting on the inside and the Side B tracklisting on the outside when fully expanded. The spine text is seamlessly included on this lamp post.

This release also includes two inserts, the first contains a message from the founder, while the second insert conains the postcards for each track and the package artist, with some artwork on the front, and the lyrics and other info on the back.

The album is pressed on aquamarine for sides A, and B.

Reveal 0089: Vinyl Moon Volume 004: Surface Tension

Today we are looking at, Vinyl Moon Volume 004: Surface Tension. Released by Vinyl Moon as catalog number Volume 004 in 2015. 

The cover has this image of swirling colors, with hidden spot varnished text in the center that reads “I’m losing my youth”. The back contains more hidden text which reads “Let's get down”. Opening the gatefold reveals a color patterned image, with the tracklisting for sides A and B on either side in the same hidden spot varnished text.

This release includes an insert, with a message from the founder, the postcards with imagery on the front, and the lyrics on the back, as well as three folded posters with artwork on the front, and artwork and messages on the back of each. 

The album is pressed on one clear with white swirl LP, for sides A, and B.

Reveal 0079: Vinyl Moon Volume 003: Halftone

Today we are looking at, Vinyl Moon Volume 003: Halftone. Released by Vinyl Moon as catalog number Volume 003 in 2015. 

The cover has three die cut slits, revealing the artwork underneath. The back has a matte and glossy pattern, as well as the numbering out of 700 copies. Opening the gatefold reveals the tracklisting connected by a thread.

This release includes an insert with a message from the founder, as well as a note that the included postcards will now be included as a single sheet of uncut postcards, with the artwork on the front, and lyrics on the back, for each track.

The packaging also includes a 20 page newpaper booklet with artwork from the featured artist, Clint Soren.

The album is pressed on one translucent bluee with black and white swirls LP for sides A, and B.
